Accountant – Non-profit

The Accountant is responsible for a broad range of fiscal duties including contract administration, General Ledger update and analysis and support to the outside auditors. Provides financial information to management by recording, researching, analyzing and reporting accounting data through General Ledger.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all monthly and quarterly vouchers for those grants and contracts assigned.
  • Prepare A/R entries for all assigned contracts billed monthly. Enter A/R data into the A/R Subsidiary Ledger in a timely fashion.
  • Review invoice and payroll coding for assigned contracts to ensure proper classification.
  • Prepare close-out packages in accordance with the date and methodology established for each funding source and prepare budgets, contract data and other necessary documents as required by the funding source.
  • Complete bank reconciliations in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor accounts receivables for assigned contracts and identify receivables that are not current.
  • Prepare calculations for fringe benefits and union dues.
  • Post payroll entries into General ledger and back up the Payroll Administrator, when necessary.
  • Act as audit liaison; prepare audit schedules and provide audit support to external auditors.
  • Prepare and provide reports as required by the Controller and CFO, and assist in other financial projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 2-3 years of general accounting experience.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills to engage with different stakeholders.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office product (spreadsheet proficient).

Qualifications preferred :

  • Accounting experience in a non-profit environment.
  • Proficiency working with Fund EZ.

Salary: $55,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year
