The Accountant III will support the contracting and accounting needs of the DMH Southeast Area, functioning as a Contracts Coordinator for the area by preparing and executing standard contracts as needed for commodities and purchase of services. The Accountant III will also be responsible for processing various documents in the Massachusetts Management Accounting and Reporting System (MMARS), such as service contracts, leases, amendments, and will also act as a liaison to Accounts Payable staff to ensure payments to vendors are accurate.

In addition, the incumbent maintains relationships with, and provides assistance to, field managers and vendors in order to manage their procurement of contracted services. This position requires traveling to Brockton for regularly scheduled meetings, plus occasional travel throughout the Southeast.

Preferred Qualifications:
At least two (2) years of experience with MMARS.

At least three (3) years of procurement experience.

Experience with Commbuys.

Experience with fiscal operations.

Qualifications

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in accounting or auditing, of which at least (B) one year must have been in a supervisory, administrative or managerial capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Substitutions:
I. An Associate’s degree with a major in accounting, business administration or business management may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.*

II. A Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, business administration or business management may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience.*

III. A Graduate degree with a major in accounting, business administration or business management may be substituted for the required experience.*
