Accountant I

Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, (Accountant I),

are to:
Learn the Bayer businesses and processes related to Asset

Management;

Assist in the project creation, maintenance and closure

processes by supporting the investment process, asset master data

and asset change requests;

Assist with coordination and completion of the annual

fixed asset physical inventory process;

Actively support new and current business initiatives and

projects;

Support the month-end close and Bayer financial reporting

processes, as needed, through communication, schedule preparation

and account analysis to ensure complete, accurate and timely

financial reporting;

Maintain high-level customer service by completing

monthly and ad hoc requests from the business and other Bayer

departments;

Monitor and support our internal control system

framework.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related degree

OR five to seven (5-7) years of applicable business

experience;

Excellent organizational and communication

skills;

Team oriented mind-set with the ability to work in a team

setting;

Demonstrated ability to work independently;

Competence to partner with internal and external contacts

to build network and strong working relationships;

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office

applications;

Proven ability to meet strict deadlines, which require

flexibility;

Professionalism and integrity;

Self-starter and hard work ethic;

Anticipate periodic travel.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of International Accounting

Standards;

Experience with SAP.
