Delicato Family Vineyards has an exciting immediate career opportunity for an Accountant I, in our Manteca, CA office.

POSITION PURPOSE

Entry level Accounting Department position responsible for basic accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Performs beginning to intermediate accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations and other related tasks
  • Assists Company managers and Accounting managers in researching general ledger activity and departmental spending levels
  • Maintains account analysis on various General Ledger Accounts including A/P and A/R subsidiary ledgers
  • Report on aging trends, days sales outstanding, and other metrics as requested
  • Maintains visual management tools and identify and report on areas for continuous improvement by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes
  • Cross trains in various accounting functions
  • Projects professional image and demeanor to suppliers, growers, and internal customers
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Filing and other clerical duties as needed in supporting role
  • SAP report writing and general report writing
  • Provides cost center spending support
  • Builds working relationships with company cost center managers

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a Bachelor’s degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting, is required
  • 1+ years business experience, including accounts payable, general ledger and account analysis or a recent college graduate with substantial coursework and/or internships in accounting field

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires an understanding of business operations and systems, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel & Word
  • Familiarity with an enterprise accounting system (such as SAP) is a plus but not required

Certificates and Licenses

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

  • Office based position with occasional outdoor exposure to the winery
