Accountant

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Are you energized by . . . being a knowledgeable expert? Do you enjoy . . . data analysis? PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES analyze financial data to support company reporting

Extracts and reports financial data from various accounting and information systems

Analyzes various internal and external financial reports for assigned business units

Processes journal entries

Maintains financial databases, computer software systems and manual filing systems

Prepares ad-hoc reporting and analysis as assigned identify process improvement opportunities

Objectively questions existing processes and procedures

Explores new ways to use current technology

Identifies opportunities for improving accuracy and/or efficiency

Recommends improvements within designated work area

Supports implementation of process improvement solutions as appropriate reconcile reports and financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance

Identifies and resolves any variances or discrepancies

Verifies accuracy and integrity of financial data

Identifies trends through monthly variance analysis

Ensures compliance with all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, applicable laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS required

Working knowledge of Excel and other financial software programs

Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Experience with financial analysis preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent project managements skills

Proven analytical and problem solving skills special requirements

Working knowledge of specific business focus area, as appropriate
