The Inova Systems Headquarters in Falls Church, VA is seeking an Accountant 1.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Primary areas of responsibility include accounting and financial oversight for certain Ambulatory and Non-Acute care operations including, various joint venture operations such as surgery centers, radiology groups, and other outpatient services. Responsibilities include monthly processing and operations reporting, assistance with budgeting and financial forecasting, support for external audit procedures and financial support for merger and acquisition activities.

Duties include:

  • Supporting accounting activities related to areas of responsibility, including monitoring emerging accounting literature, implementation of appropriate accounting treatments, ensuring proper controls around transactions, development of accounting policies and procedures, analysis, budgeting, reporting, audit activities, accounting for transactions on a monthly basis, account reconciliations, and execution of certain transactions.
  • Responsible for monthly review of operating results, AR reserves, and preparation of financial and operating reports to Inova Sr. management.
  • Prepare financial reports on a quarterly basis.
  • Provides documentation and assists with coordination of the annual external audit requirements for each Surgery Center, including financial statement preparation.
  • Responsible for all routine accounting functions, including account reconciliations, review of journal entries, variance analyses, and balance sheet reviews.
  • Perform special projects and other analyses in support of departmental operations.
  • Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Experience:

    A minimum of two years relevant accounting/finance experience. Banking or similar experience desirable. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, required with ability to clearly communicate technical issues to all levels of management and physician groups. Prefer 2 to 3 years of experience.

    Education:

    BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required.

    Certifications:

    CPA Eligibility preferred
