Typical Day

Partner with business in identifying and clarifying business requirements

Translate business requirements into effective and efficient functional and technical solution that align with our target state

Delivery Technical & Functional specifications, write unit, system and UAT test scenarios and detail test cases per JPMC standards

Design application/processes and build/deliver in time with quality following JPMC standards & controls and SDLC process

Execute unit/system/UAT test scripts recoding results and success/failures

Collaborate and help business (if required) during UAT phase

Implement code into production. Provide post production support and post implementation validations

Provide Run The Engine support by recovering the production failures in timely manner

Participate in platform outage recovery, DR events, identify & implement IT Risks & controls gaps to reduce risk exposure to the bank

Identify opportunities to collapse multiple related processes into single process to gain efficiencies.

Qualifications

Both Ab initio and SAS hands-on developer skills are must for this position.

Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic

Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical solution documentation.

Strong partnering skills with business and other IT areas

Hands-on 5+ years experience with full software development lifecycle from inception through implementation. Need actual development experience.

Experience with development, deployment, and support of large-scale ETL applications in a mission-critical production environment using Ab initio and SAS. “Both Ab initio and SAS are must.”

Test-infected attitude (strong desire to perform thorough and exhaustive unit, integration and system testing & support UAT testing).

Desired Skills:
4-6+ years ETL development experience using Abinitio, Unix Shell Scripting, SQL, Oracle, Teradata

3+ years experience with a PL/SQL, Scheduling Tools (Control-M, Tivoli, Autosys)

1.5+ years of actual development experience building ETL applications/processes using SAS.

Very nice to have knowledge on Hadoop (Ab initio on Hadoop)

Good to have knowledge on other ETL Tools like Informatica, Data stage, Clover ETL

Strong knowledge of Oracle, Teradata databases

Experience in writing Technical, Functional documentation.

Experience in writing unit, system and integrated testing scenarios, test cases and test plans.

Strong analysis and problem solving skills

Self started and should be able to delivery multiple competing priorities with quality and on-time.

Should be able to work in team environment and also independently deliver by taking control and ownership of work.

Education/Experience Need

BS degree with 4-6 years of actual hardcore development experience using Ab initio, SAS, Unix shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL, A VERY significant added advantage will be knowledge on SAS and other ETL tools like Informatica, Clover ETL, Data Stage, Hadoop

Other Requirements

Knowledge on scheduling tools like Control-M, Tivoli, Autosys, crontab
