Description

This is an opportunity to contribute to the current and future business growth of a market leading Process Solutions Company. Working within our multi-discipline department (process, control and instrumentation, mechanical and design engineering), utilizing your technical knowledge and professional experience you will play a critical role in the delivery of process packages for on and offshore applications. The role requires technical solutions and detail designing of process systems throughout all phases of a project lifecycle from proposals to completion. Experience or expertise in design engineering in the field of Fluid Systems (Process) such as separation and mixing processes, water treatment and sand handling packages is desirable for this position. An exceptional appreciation of the commercial implications of engineering decision making, attention to detail, ability to work effectively with other team members, a keen focus on delivery and the ability to turn client-driven requirements into profitable solutions are all critical to success in this role. You will be required to complete models GA and detail drawings for quoting, designing and satisfying customer requirements acting as the technical authority for design engineering technical matters on specific projects. You should be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of exciting projects.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Produce, check and approve Design engineering documentation deliverables

• Responsible for ensuring all deliverables are technically in accordance with client requirements

• Responsible for ensuring all deliverables are on time to agreed completion dates.

• Ensure timely and thorough review of client specifications and communication of findings

• Lead internal design review meetings ensuring that the department is commercially aware of their technical selections

• Responsible for ensuring that internal checking and approvals procedures are adhered to

• Responsible for ensuring that document numbering and revision control procedure is conformed to

• Approval of Technical Requisition documents for subcontracted or sub-vended engineering scope

• Preparation of Technical Requisitions for any 3rd party design review or verification

• Reviewing and recommending Subcontract/Sub-vendor quotes

• Ensure that client comments are reviewed and responded to in a timely, and technically acceptable fashion

• Ensure that any design changes which may have a cost or schedule impact are communicated to the relevant project personnel

• Participate in client meetings and perform accordingly to ensure customer care is at the foremost position

• Ensure that Engineering Queries are investigated, resolved and documented in a technically acceptable fashion and undertake root cause analysis

• Be fully aware of personal workload, prioritize and organize to ensure deadlines are achieved

• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area and department

• Participate in the development of systems and improvement in working practices and processes

• Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times

• Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager

• Travel required as dictated by project needs

Qualifications:

• College Education/Certification in associated Engineering discipline

• Tertiary education in an Engineering discipline

Experience:

• Working knowledge of the oil and gas industry

• Process Package Layout, Pressure Vessel Design, Structural Design, Piping Layouts & Isometric Detailing

Skills, training or special knowledge

• Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and AutoDesk Suite)

• Working knowledge of Plant 3D, CADWorx, and Inventor

• Working knowledge of pressure vessel, piping and structural design codes

• Knowledge of ASME, PED, ATEX, IECEX and its application

• Knowledge of NACE

• Knowledge of NORSOK standards

• Understanding of engineering documents and drawings

• Understand common place industry materials and their application
