Web Operations Engineer

SportsEngine has an exciting new opportunity for a Web Operations Engineer to join our Platform Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity spanning multiple skillsets, from Software Developer to Linux System Admin to Database Admin. As a member of the Platform Operations team at SportsEngine, you will……

Provision servers for the SportsEngine Platform on Amazon Web Services.

Build and maintain Chef recipes to automatically configure servers.

Ensure the SportsEngine platform is up and running smoothly while serving a large amount of traffic.

Create tools that increase the productivity of our Development team.

Improve our Development Pipeline as we continuously deliver value to our customers.

Execute production deploys – We average around 25 a day.

Use tools to automatically monitor the health of the SportsEngine platform.

Maintain and improve the security of the SportsEngine Platform.

Be an advocate for quality code and quality engineering.

Join the 24×7 on-call rotation.

This is the perfect role for you if have one or more of the following:

Experience building a high traffic web application as a Software Developer.

Experience operating a high traffic web application as a System Administrator.

Experience maintaining a high traffic database as a Database Administrator.

The desire to learn and grow your career in those areas where expertise is lacking.
