Title: Senior UI Developer

Contract: 6+months (renewed quarterly)

Location: San Jose, CA

Responsibilities

The Sr. Engineers responsibilities include:

* Design and development of compelling features and applications based on Web 2.0 frameworks and Infrastructure to enable The Client to be the best of breed in the NFV Market. Showcase best practices for a well-designed user experience that will perform well in the targeted browser environments, and meet enterprise application and corporate needs, such as Section 508 compliance (accessibility), localization, and internationalization.

* Maintain best practices and coding conventions to ensure maximum efficiency and modularity, including code formatting, general code/module structure, naming conventions, policies and guidelines around code verification prior to code check-in, etc..

* Participate in Proof of Concept projects to explore new concepts and UI designs.

Experience

* 10+ years of recent web development experience using Client side technologies AJAX, JavaScript, HTML5/CSS3, Widget development using one or more leading JavaScript based libraries, such as Angular.js, Require.js, jQuery, and Dojo.

* Experience building applications with responsive layouts using technologies like Bootstrap preferred.

* Experience with a variety of other open source web technologies such as Backbone, Bootstrap, Ext JS, D3, 3JS, is preferred.

* Solid understanding of cross-browser application development.

* Practical experience providing and consuming RESTful web services, JSON, JAX-RS, SOAP, XML-RPC.

* Work across teams, with User experience, Quality and Product Management to define and build a compelling user experience that also uses best practices for high performance and scalability.

* Familiarity with version control systems and release management protocols, such as SVN and GIT.

* Experience using Agile methodologies and participating in consecutive releases of software platforms

* Experience responding to dynamic needs of the business

* Experience with development tools and utilities

* Critical thinking, Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with seven or more years of relevant experience

This role has the following responsibilities:

* On-call response to escalated monitoring system alarms and trouble tickets

* Review and improve run-books’ to standardize the operation of the systems

* Install, operate and troubleshoot advanced clouds using OpenStack

* Install, operate and troubleshoot hardware systems in data centers to support private clouds

* Provide expert OpenStack advice and support for remote private and hybrid-private clouds

* Automate installation, operation and corrective actions using salt, chef, puppet

* Write and maintain scripts to support operations, development and testing of advanced software

* Subject matter expert in advanced cloud technologies
