Software Engineer

Blue Star Sports is looking for a Software Engineer with a strong background in payment processing to fill out our team at our brand new Plano headquarters. Responsibilities

• Be a team player: contribute to our culture, invent new ways to address industry needs, criticize constructively, and help create a world-changing company
• Manage all aspects of the software life cycle (Requirement gathering, Testing, Deployment, Support)
• Write automated tests via TDD to foster effective, reusable, and flexible code
• Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
• Implement security and data protection
• Build RESTful APIs with PHP, Node.js and other frameworks

Skills & Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience, with experience in payment processing
• Strong understanding of payment gateways & ecommerce implementation of payment methods
• Familiarity with tokenization & working with multiple processors
• Passionate about creating high-quality, flexible code
• Strong understanding of REST API principles and best practices
• Expertise in Agile/SCRUM development
• Expertise in PHP is required, preferably Lumen and/or Laravel frameworks
• Expertise with Node.js highly preferred
• Proficiency with JavaScript and related front end languages is preferred
