Software Developer – Softlines Innovations

The Amazon Fashion Technology team transforms how customers shop for clothing, shoes, and accessories online by delivering new customer experiences and platforms across Amazon. We are looking for a front end developer who is interested in crafting experiences that will delight our customers. In this role, you will own features end-to-end including interfacing with backend services and building frontend, customer-facing experiences.
You will work with developers, technical leaders, product management, and UX design to shape the technical product strategy for Amazon Fashion. You will build the next generation of experiences leveraging data from computer vision, machine learning, and Amazon’s existing logistics giving you a broad view of how Amazon works. Successful candidates will work as part of a team, working with a broad cross-section of the Amazon organization and spanning a wide range of technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual to have a large impact in new technologies, within an innovative Amazon business unit.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field) or 4+ years relevant work experience
• Passion for developing engaging integrated consumer experiences.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C++, C#, Java, or Perl
• Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
• Strong Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design and problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building large-scale web applications
• Ability to deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment
• Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency, and drive
• Ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies and adopt solution from within the company or from the Open Source community.
• Strong knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
