Senior Java Developer

Summary of Role:

The ideal candidate will utilize substantial experience to build highly available java and oracle based application(s).

Candidate will have sense of urgency, drive, initiative to take ownership and responsibility of various development tasks and be committed to project deliverables.

Will possess strong knowledge of multi-threaded back-end applications and database development, with the ability to own and drive the development of a solution to completion, with required QoS (Quality Of Service).

Collaboration with other Software Engineers, QA group and Business Analysts will be required to design, develop, and test applications in fast paced environment. Must be able to propose, design, and communicate solutions to business problems requiring development across multiple applications and platforms.

Essential Functions:

Define and implement end-to-end target solution architectures for strategic business initiatives. This includes analyze, design, model, implement (program / code), test and document for an integrated software product using multiple technologies (and multiple programming languages).
Lead and contribute to technology evaluations and selections
Make architecture and technology recommendations
Maintain a high competency in current financial IT industry and technology trends
Conduct proofs of concept for emerging technologies and business concepts
Diagnose, isolate and implement remedies for system failures.

Basic Qualifications:

Proven experience in technology strategy, application architecture and IT project/program delivery
Proven track record of leading solution architecture delivery and adoption
Proven track record of leading business application and capability delivery
Proven track record in business engagement and business partner management
Excellent writing and oral communication skills, with proven experience in building and maintaining relationships with executives, business stakeholders and technical teams
Strong communication, inter-personnel, influence, collaboration and leadership skills
Strong strategic thinking and planning skills
Broad knowledge of architecture domains, including business, application, data, infrastructure and security architectures
Extensive experience in SOA and integration technologies and architecture patterns
Extensive experience in high performance application architectures, including concurrent back-end applications.
Extensive experience in data architecture and design, including relational databases, analytics and possibly with in-memory database(s).
Extensive experience in Data Modelling, Database Design , Database Programming , Performance Tuning, etc.
Extensive experience in Java Spring Framework
Extensive experience with application middleware, including application servers.
Good knowledge of infrastructure architecture design, including cloud-based infrastructure
Broad experience in technology evaluations and selections
Experience in application and database programming in multiple programming languages (Java, PL/SQL and various scripting languages). Current hands on programming experience is must.
Fluent knowledge of architecture modeling, including and beyond UML and BPMN, and related tools
Knowledge of project delivery methodologies, including agile methodologies.
Strong knowledge of Linux and windows operations systems.
Bachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related discipline
Proven track record of delivering results in a complex organization
Able to meet tight project deliverables.
Able to work independently as well as part of the team.
