Quality Assurance Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION: ( Only Swing or Night Shifts Available)

To support the Quality Assurance Manager in performing evaluations of raw materials, finished product and packaging. QA Technician is responsible for monitoring and communicating food quality discrepancies and overall status to management throughout the production shift

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform Pre-op and CCP checks on equipment according to the Quality Program
• Collect Raw, In-process and Finished Product samples and test them appropriately according to the Quality Program or as requested and document results on QA Worksheet.
• Review non-conformance of production operations and equipment or products with QA Manager, issue non conformance reports & assist with investigation and correction of problem. Perform re samples and assist in problem investigation.
• Perform weekly and monthly Environmental Monitoring, Equipment Calibrations, Shelf Life Analysis and Inventory Management
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Plant Safety rules. Assist in the enforcement of GMP’S throughout the plant. Report all food safety and/or quality issues to a supervisor or manager.
• Clean trays, utensils and equipment in the Quality Control laboratory on a daily basis. Assist the supervisors during production in maintaining a clean work environment within the laboratory.
• Comply with the Wyckoff Farms Food security program. Notify management of potential threats to the facility, product and/or personnel.
• Conduct Net Weight Inspection on finished product during production. Report results on QC forms for finished product Net Weight.

Successful candidates will have:

• An education level equivalent to a High School Diploma and 0-2 years of related experience.
• Preferably 1-2 years of QA Lab Experience in the Food Production Industry
• Good Written and Oral Communication Skills.
• The ability to follow instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• The ability to work within a team environment or without direct supervision at times.
• The ability to lift 40 pounds and work standing and/or moving 6-8 hours per shift.

Salary: $12.00 /hour
