POS IT Technician

Vitabyte, a growing managed services provider serving a variety of industries, is seeking a high-initiative IT Technician to serve our customers in the greater New York City metropolitan area. As a Vitabyte IT Technician, you will:

• Provide remote and on-site technical support to our customers, primarily small-to-medium sized businesses (SMBs) and restaurants who utilize our Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Perform cabling, installation, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance of hardware and software.
• Provide phone support to help our customers troubleshoot their hardware and software issues.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A customer-friendly and “happy-to-help” attitude
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
• A willingness to learn plus a passion for results
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environments, Exchange server administration, networking, TCP/IP, remote connection tools (i.e. VNC, LogMeIn, RDP), directly connected and network storage solutions, database development and administration, and hardware and software installation and configuration
• Experience installing and servicing Point of Sale terminals
• Associates degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Preferrably to have A+, N+, Cisco, MCP, MSCE certification but not limited
• Must have a Drivers License the job requires driving to sites
