Part-Time Social Media Manager

Wine retailer (K&L Wine Merchants – www.klwines.com) is looking for a social media maven to engage, educate and entice our followers. This includes contributing compelling content to our Blog and managing our social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. It will involve spending time in all three of our NorCal locations (San Francisco, Redwood City, San Carlos) to capture all the behind-the-scenes magic that makes our company special!

General Responsibilities:

• Manage and grow the company’s social media presence
• Author compelling content – both text and compelling photos which may include K&L event coverage, winemaker interviews, staff member spotlights, etc.
• Encourage consistent and relevant traffic by continuously testing new ways to attract and engage both existing customer and new buyers
• Work closely with multiple departments (Buying, Marketing, Auctions, Sales) to highlight the diverse segments of the organization

Skills needed:

• Ability to write creatively, accurately, and quickly on a variety of wine- and spirits-related subjects
• A current blog or writing examples, ideally with topics related to the adult beverage channel
• Working knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and vintages
• An interest in photography and aesthetics, photo editing skills a plus
• An editor-quality attention to detail (formatting, grammar, spelling)
• Ability to multi-task and complete work rapidly and accurately without direct supervision

This position is 20 hours per week, working from a remote location. The ability to spend time in each of our three Bay Area locations is required.
