We currently have an opening for an Oracle Technical lead in Irvine, California.


As the Oracle Technical Lead within IVC’s Information Technology team, this individual plays a critical role working closely with the business and across the Information Technology organization defining, delivering and supporting IT business solutions and supporting roadmaps. In summary this position:

Analyzes business requirements/processes and system integration considerations to determine appropriate technology solutions; Designs, codes, tests and documents applications based on system and user requirements; using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications; completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance; monitors and maintains applications and restores services for end users; analyzes software and hardware problems and coordinates workable solutions; performs system software upgrades including planning and scheduling, coordination and deploying; and ensures availability and performance of systems and application environments through proactive as well as reactive analysis and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares flow charts and systems diagrams to assist in problem analysis.
  • Responsible for preparing design documentation.
  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents software according to IVC’s systems standards, policies and procedures.
  • Prepares test data for unit, string and parallel testing.
  • Analyzes business needs and creates software solutions.
  • Evaluates and recommends software and hardware solutions to meet user needs.
  • Resolves customer issues with software solutions and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Interacts with business users and I/T to define current and future application requirements.
  • Manages, resolves and documents issues and events related to system and environment availability.
  • Monitors and measures performance characteristics of applications.
  • Performs routine maintenance.
  • Communicates with all stakeholders (customers, development teams, end users, etc.) to address system issues.
  • Proposes and implements systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
  • Learns new applications, IVC-specific technologies, system behavior and business processes as they relates to customer needs.
  • Provides strategic technical and architectural leadership to the programming function.
  • Key interface between IT and key business users / senior leadership in defining IT solution based on business needs.
  • Plans, conducts and manages assignments involving large, high budgets (cross- functional) projects that are often global in nature.
  • Serves as technical expert to senior leadership in the IT organization and functional user groups.

Initiates, and drives major changes in architecture, methodology or programming procedures.

Qualifications

Education: Undergraduate degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or Graduate degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.


Skills & Knowledge:
Expert knowledge of system development methodology, project management, analytical/problem solving skills and relevant business and technology skills.

  • Advanced
    knowledge of and ability to put into practice commonly used SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.).

  • Expert
    Oracle applications database, architectural and technical knowledge.

  • Expert
    knowledge of Unix/Linux Operating systems.

  • Expert
    knowledge in high availability and backup strategies for Oracle Applications & Databases.

  • Expert
    Knowledge of PL SQL and SQL.

  • Working Knowledge
    in Oracle Database Administration, including database sizing, scaling, monitoring, tuning, installing, extending, upgrading and experience with the latest versions and replication.

  • Strong Working Knowledge
    of EDI systems, including integration, translation and transmission.


Language and Communication Skills:
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and able to adapt to the level and nature of their audience.
