About the Position
The IT Database Report Writer Analyst offers reporting and data support for solutions by managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of large strategic projects supporting Maricopa County Department of Transportation, Animal Care and Control, Real Estate, Equipment Services, Environmental Services, Flood Control District, and Planning and Development departments.

Position Qualifications

We recognize your time is valuable, so please apply if you meet the following required qualifications.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Experience

  • Five (5) years of report writing experience

  • OR

  • Post-secondary education in a related field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

  • Our Preferred Candidate has

  • Associate degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Two (2) years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server database and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Essential Job Tasks

  • Assists in the analysis, creation, and maintenance of simple to complex reports
  • Designs, develops, and implements a wide array of standardized and impromptu reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Collaborates with business analysts, project managers, and the business community to identify needs and opportunities for reporting
  • Designs, builds, tests, and publishes standardized reports and ad hoc custom reports
  • Identifies, manages, and discovers process improvements as they relate to reporting delivery
  • Collaborates closely with technical support, database administrators, software developers, and other business groups
  • Aids in data discovery for cleanup activities with users and project teams for conversion purposes
  • Sets up, implements, and maintains solutions such as subscriptions, dashboards, and reports

  • Working Conditions

    Must be able to work in a normal, indoor office environment. Position may require travel to and from job-related locations during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles used on County business. Must have the manual dexterity of hands and body to operate office equipment. Must be able to manage frequent interruptions, time pressures, high work volumes, multiple and complicated tasks, unscheduled tasks, team-oriented activities, prompt decision-making and interaction with government officials and the public. Must constantly maintain concentration, accuracy, ethical behavior and a professional demeanor.

    Selection Procedure

    The Maricopa County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates considered to be the most highly qualified. Those selected will be assessed based on the evaluation of listed education and experience. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a list provided by Human Resources.

    All offers of employment made to new hires and rehires at Maricopa County are contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer, pre-employment thorough background investigation. A background investigation is conducted on a current employee who changes to a Safety Sensitive Position or one having the potential for serious adverse impact on the integrity or efficiency of the County.     Typically, successful candidates are hired at a salary rate up to the midpoint of the range, based on relevant experience, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
