Job Purpose

The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Human Resources. This role will administer human resources policies, processes and programs designed to ensure all Vista Equity Partners employees are enabled and empowered to perform to their highest potential. The individual will be responsible for creating, administering and overseeing projects in the areas of HR Information Systems, Payroll/Benefits, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Organizational Development, Training, Compensation and Employment Lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitating and continuously improving upon employee onboarding processes and programs, including New Hire Orientation and individualized training programs by role.
  • Works directly with Senior Payroll and Benefits Administrator for each payroll and benefits invoicing cycle, and acts as backup for payroll and benefits-related tasks.
  • Assists employees with any payroll or benefits-related questions or issues.
  • Assists with development and deployment of employee career development and training programs, including training tracking and impact measurement.
  • Assists with selection of any external training programs/consultants.
  • Mitigating employer risk through managing employment law compliance, creating and administering tight system controls/processes and assisting with regulatory reporting.
  • Helps to ensure correct processes and controls are in place for HRIS, and functions as the HRIS system administrator/helpdesk technician for employee inquiries.
  • Facilitates/manages internal records of employee job changes, such as promotions, transfers, relocations, etc.
  • Helps to manage annual benefits projects, such as open enrollment, 401K reporting, etc.
  • Administers worker’s compensation and disability claims.
  • Oversees administration and upkeep of HR systems for performance management, training/development and employee information.
  • Oversees the development, documentation and updating of company policies for the employee handbook and other policy repositories.
  • Assisting with all aspects of performance management, including manager training/coaching, performance improvement plans, and performance reviews.
  • Provides assistance and support for employee relations issues, such as conducting and documenting investigations, acting as advisor on employee-related issues, or recommending disciplinary action where appropriate.
  • Helps ensure smooth employee offboarding processes, including assisting with exit interviews, paperwork requirements and/or communication with terminated employees.
  • Assists with employee engagement initiatives such as survey implementation, data gathering/analysis, recommended courses of action and action-item implementation/monitoring.
  • Acts as a backup for recruiting and assists with certain other recruiting-related duties, such as candidate management, hiring manager follow-up, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of HR experience in a broad-reaching HR role, preferably in the financial/professional services sector
  • Strong understanding of US employment law, particularly in the states of CA, IL and TX
  • Experience and comfort level with using various types of HR systems, including Applicant Tracking, HRIS, Performance Management and LMS systems
  • Highly proficient with MS Office, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to act with the highest level of discretion at all times
  • Strong problem-solving and analytic skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be resourceful to get the job done right, and on time
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to successfully prioritize and re-prioritize in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, while still delivering on projects in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated excellent oral/written English communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adapt interpersonal style to different personalities
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt communication style to different audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to influence both employees and leaders alike, with the right mix of ethos, logos and pathos
  • Some understanding of international employment law preferred, not required
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP preferred, not required
