DUTIES:
As a Fiscal Analyst 3, you will help your customers by providing timely, accurate, meaningful, and efficient financial support on which to base sound business decisions. You will analyze complex financial and statistical data, perform specialized accounting activities in general ledger activity, and conduct fiscal research to determine appropriate trends, developments, and procedures.

Some of what you will enjoy doing include:
Performs general ledger duties related to reconciliations, asset management, certificates of participation, purchasing, policy and financial systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);

Reviews work performed by other financial staff for accuracy and ensures required transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP;

Provides recommendations on system improvements and internal controls;

Assists in the development and implementation of policies and fiscal procedures;

Demonstrates an understanding of financial rules and policies, including GAAP, Office of Financial Management (OFM) policies, and agency policies;

Ensures accurate data is entered into the accounting systems and in AFRS;

Assists in the development and reconciliation of CAFR and SWCAP reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
A bachelor’s degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting

AND

Two (2) years of relevant professional experience.

OR

Any combination of education and relevant professional experience totaling six (6) years. (Education must include the required credit hours in accounting).

The following certifications may substitute for one year of experience: Certified Public Accountant, Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Management Accountant.

NOTE: This position requires knowledge of accounting theory and must be familiar with the practice of governmental accounting.

DESIRED:
Detailed understanding of AFRS, CAMS, Enterprise Reporting and agency accounting systems.
