Finance manager

Primary function is to oversee hotel budgets, staff payroll, and overall finances. This skilled position is ideal for candidates who enjoys accounting and customer service. As a small hotel the finance manager job is combined with duty manager role including meeting and talking with guests.

Duties and Responsibilities

Daily reconciliation of all bank and petty cash accounts

Process Payroll.

Track Expenses

Assist external hotel accountants with yearly financial statements

Manage the Budget and Cashflow projections

Ensuring legislation is followed regarding VAT and PAYE

Ensure all statutory payments and licenses are paid on time

Ensure all guest departure bills are posted correctly

Credit Control – Ensure suppliers bills are accurate and posted on time and all suppliers are paid timeously

Liaising with reservations with regards bad debts and keeping a careful eye on the cash flow

Monitor stock control – All departments

Preparing profit and loss accounts and the balance sheet for senior management

Producing an accurate set of month-end accounts, with comparisons to forecasts and previous periods

Maintaining hotel asset register

Supervise the accounts department

Hotel Supervisory Duties

Any other duties assigned by senior management

Skills required:
Tools of the Trade

Should be familiar with the following:
Property management systems (Nightsbridge)

Bookkeeping software (QuickBooks)

Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
