Executive Director, (SAP) Program Management

As part of the Global GIS PMO Organization, is responsible for the planning, execution, delivery, and deployment of SAP and related systems projects, enabling capabilities, enhancements, legal and regulatory compliance requirements. Is responsible to coordinate activities across multiple GIS IT functional departments and disciplines, along with numerous business stakeholder groups.

Is responsible to effectively communicate with and engage executive stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and commercial outcomes.

SAP is used across ELC Globally, and represents in effect the backbone of many functional operations. Successfully planning and managing changes to this infrastructure requires acute knowledge of SAP and related operational processes coupled with exception program and project management skills necessary to manage the various complexities across ELC.

  • Program Governance – Work with the GIS Global Apps Lead / Interim CIO in establishing the agenda topics, and preparing materials for the Global SAP Steering Committee on SAP deployments and projects. Lead the Business Prioritization Committee discussion with topics related to all SAP projects, enhancements, and business initiatives.
  • Portfolio Management – Ensure all projects are tracked and weekly status updates provided to the GIS PMO Lead
  • Planning and Execution – Facilitate planning and execution of all SAP projects & initiatives in close collaboration with GIS PMO Lead, Global Process Leads, SAP Technology Lead, and other GIS functional leads.
  • Roadmap – Work with GIS Global Leads to efficiently establish and maintain a deployment and project rollout timelines
  • Timeline & Milestones – Ensure project timeline and appropriate milestones are established for the agreed deployment roadmap and all other approved SAP projects
  • Scope Management – Ensure scope is documented and socialized with the business stakeholders for all SAP deployments & projects.
  • Risk Management – Manage risks throughout the deployment and escalate as appropriate with the governance committees including proper mitigation steps.
  • Issues Management – Manage issues during the SAP deployment and projects execution with proper follow ups for closure
  • Capacity planning – Maintain a comprehensive capacity plans across all the different SAP process teams and technical teams; ensure the resource times are properly allocated across SAP deployment and other projects.
  • Finance Oversight – Ensure the projects are estimated and managed to the budget for the SAP deployment and all other SAP projects. Ensure the project Appropriation Requests are created for all SAP GIS funded projects including SAP deployment
  • Metrics and Reporting – Ensure appropriate tools are used to capture the project data, and provide metrics & reporting with proper analysis. Provide Project Dashboard view for the Governance/steering committee.
  • Vendor Management – Partner with all GIS strategic vendors for all resourcing needs as well as ensuring the expected project deliverables from the vendors are met. Lead and Participate in vendor meetings as required.
  • Contract Negotiations – Work closely with GIS VMO and participate in vendor contract discussions that are related to SAP projects
  • Demand Management – Help manage the demand inflow of requests, and coordinate with business stakeholders, regional & global governance committees to prioritize and approve.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication – Ensure the stakeholder community across all regions are informed of all key project communications
  • Project Delivery – Plan, direct, monitor, and control all project activity and work assignments to ensure smooth and flawless execution
  • Manage Offshore Teams – Help manage partner delivery organizations either onshore or offshore including all resource approvals, onboarding etc.
  • Meetings – Plan, schedule, and conduct regular project meetings with proper agenda, decks, and follow up actions.

Qualifications

  • Leadership roles in SAP planning & deployments
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating activities at both working and executive “c suite” level to effectively gain alignment on execution with multiple levels and stakeholder groups in the organization
  • Bachelor’s degree; PMP certification is desirable
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products
  • Global implementation experience with 10 years of total experience
  • Good project and program management skills
  • Attention to Detail and strong partnership skills
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) / presentation skills
  • Experience at delivering EVP level communications and engagement of senior executives in planning & governance
  • Goal / Milestone Orientated
  • Able to manage global, regional and local teams very well.
  • Vendor negotiation and management skills
  • Able to collaborate across various teams
  • Able to manage several projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to manage complexity of planning and implementation across many business, technical, and operating functions
  • PMP certification is desirable
