Engineer, Software Development

The Software Development Engineer will join a team of technical experts who are responsible for Canon USA original application development.

The Software Development Engineer will engage in application development using Canon technologies. The Software Development Engineer will take an active role in creating specifications and designing products, working with project management, customers and/or field personnel to determine products’ requirements, architecting and developing the products.

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will plan, design, develop and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

Participates in development efforts. This task involves participation in all phases of software design and development including requirements gathering, design, coding, and testing. Applications may be customizations or products.

Participates in providing technical support to developers using Canon SDKs.

This task includes reviewing developers’ support requests, analyzing issues and providing answers to their questions, or directions to solve the problems.

Participates in Canon SDK review process. This task includes the analysis of SDK design, functionality and performance.

Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor degree (CS, CE or related) with proficient Java and/or C# programming skills; combined with exceptional interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with the following is a plus but not required.

Cloud API (REST, SOAP),

Mobile development (iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone)

Smart card (CAC, PIV, .Net)

PKI (Public Key Infrastructure)

Secure email

TCP/IP, LDAP, SMB

Kerberos, NTLM, SSO

Cryptography
