Designer

Reliance Fire Protection, Inc. is seeking qualified applicants for our Fire Sprinkler Designer position. Fire Sprinkler Designers are responsible for the design and drafting of Fire Sprinkler and Standpipe systems in accordance with NFPA and local building codes.

Job Responsibilites

• Read and interpret building construction documents such as drawings, specifications and other contract documents
• Prepare fire protection shop drawings, specifications, equipment submittals, and computer hydraulic calculations as needed for compliance with applicable fire protection codes, standards and contract documents
• Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure company is meeting customers’ expectations
• Prepare equipment stock lists and fabrication lists for fabrication of fire protection piping and hangers
• Assist in the survey of existing buildings for accurate, economical installation of fire protection systems
• Coordinate activities with Project Manager

Job Qualifications

• Moderate computer skills
• Must be detail oriented
• Ability to communicate well both written and verbally
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to coordinate and work well with others
• Proven ability and track record of performing work in a timely manner and meeting deadlines
• Knowledge of CAD
• Knowledge of fire pumps, hydraulic calculations and backflow preventers
• Prior fire sprinkler design and experience with AutoSprink or other sprinkler system design
• NICET certified
