Corporate Strategy Analyst

The Corporate Strategy organization is looking for a Strategy Analyst to help shape the future of the company by working to define strategic priorities across the enterprise. This position will be part of a team who is responsible for supporting senior decision-making through strategic analysis in our pursuit of the 2025 Objectives. This individual must have the ability to develop close working relationships across Business Units and Functions, bringing individuals of various backgrounds and levels together to successfully drive business decisions. This position will report to the Manager, Strategy Core and will sit in Chicago, Illinois.

In addition, the analyst will also be responsible for ensuring integration and alignment among Boeing’s commercial, defense and services businesses and other enterprise functions in any one of the following areas: strategic business planning, investment prioritization, mergers and acquisitions, market analysis, and competitive intelligence.

Specific responsibilities would include:

Research & Analysis

  • Lead various market research activities on the global aerospace and defense industry
  • Provide forecasts of markets size, growth and trends
  • Assess current market drivers, customer needs, and competitive dynamics
  • Review data that has been gathered and determines when additional data is needed
  • Uses basic analytical and research tools needed to draw conclusions


Functional Knowledge

  • Familiarity with strategy area tools and methodologies
  • Market assessment and forecasting
  • Conduct value chain analysis to determine control point capabilities and Boeing gaps
  • Develop strategic rationale for organic or inorganic investment, prioritize investments
  • Ability to conduct a business case with documented assumptions and conclusions

Communication, Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Communicate clearly and effectively; including written and verbal
  • Communicate task issues, progress and status
  • Present and discuss work results clearly with various levels of leadership
  • Facilitate cross-Boeing, cross-BU communication

Basic Qualifications (Required):
  • Aerospace & Defense industry education or experience
  • Mergers & Acquisition experience

  • Experience documenting and presenting analytical results

  • Experience with strategy area tools and methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience preparing and presenting briefs for executive level communications
  • Experience performing strategic analysis on the aerospace or defense industry
Typical Education and Experience:
Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 7 or more years’ or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
