Communications Manager – Africa

Responsibilities

TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video. Our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. We are looking for a dynamic comms professional to join our growing Global Communications Team.
Responsibilities：
• Develop and implement communications strategies, and a range of proactive communications plans and initiatives to support the brand development;
• Develop compelling narrative that engages consumer audiences;
• Execute and oversee communications programs from creative ideation, messaging development, media outreach plan to proactive pitching;
• Working closely with cross-functional teams including product, marketing and policy on communications related campaigns and initiatives, including in areas related to partnerships and marketing opportunities;
• Provide issues management advice, response and handling as they arise;
• Manage external PR agency to support the above efforts.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (speaking and writing);
• Based in South Africa;
• Bachelor’s degree or higher;
• 5+ years relevant working experience, experience in both corporate and consumer communications is preferred. Previous experience in global companies a plus;
• An excellent communicator who can successfully build relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally;
• A team player who can lead projects and strong project management skills;
• Experience working in social media, Internet, Technology companies;
• Experience working in cross-border, multi-cultural environment is preferred.
