Associate Project Manager

The Associate Project Manager is responsible for the management of a portfolio of projects in conjunction with a Sr. Project manager with an overall aggregate of $500K-$3M in HVAC and HVAC Controls projects. The type of projects will impact the number of projects and total volume of projects assigned.

Project Managers are required to provide leadership in managing the portfolio and coordinating the project technicians and sub-contractors to efficiently complete the project within project cost estimates and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with support from a Sr. PM:
    • Assist on all phases of projects/programs from inception through completion.
    • Assist in monthly forecasting all assigned projects for revenue, GM and resource requirements to District Leadership.
    • Assist in developing project schedules/plans and execute accordingly.
    • Assist in developing and estimating projects.
    • Manages costs, billings and collections. Completes project billings in a timely and accurate format to the client.
    • Maintains profitability goals and positive cash flow.
    • Assist in the responsibility of field execution, coordination with subcontractors/vendors as applicable and work with customers/authorities/jurisdictions to obtain completion sign-off.
    • Act as primary customer contact for project/program activities, leading project/program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and performance.
    • Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer needs.
    • Ensures project document control follows contract requirements and Honeywell policy.
    • Oversees project construction for compliance with specifications, local codes and installation techniques.
    • Manages the selection, ordering, and delivery schedule of materials.
    • Participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
    • Support the sales team with accurate estimates, risk assessment and order obtainment.
    • Travel both locally to project sites with overnight up to 10% as work load demands.
    • Read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or High School Diploma with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • 1+ years’ exposure to Project Management in HVAC and/or HVAC and digital building controls.
  • 3+ years’ understanding of HVAC theory, low voltage electrical circuitry, trouble-shooting, construction environments and safe work practices.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
