Village Super Market now operates 30 ShopRite stores in NJ, NY, PA, and MD as well as three Gourmet Garage specialty markets and five Fairway Market stores in New York City. As Village Super Market invests in new products and equipment designed to enhance the customer experience, we are looking for a talented Applications Developer. In this role, you will be responsible for new product integration, a SaaS platform, Oracle back end and solving integrity issues impacting daily production. End to end process mapping of the workflow with a strong project management support partner. Must be able educate and train sustainability.

On site presence or the ability to travel to NY required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Understand client requirements and how they translate in application features

Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications

Design creative prototypes according to specifications

Write high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines

Perform unit and integration testing before launch

Conduct functional and non-functional testing

Troubleshoot and debug applications

Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features

Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code

The ideal candidate we seek must possess the following:

2 years of experience using Visual Studio programming in C# (C Sharp). Primarily using Batch/Console Applications. Solid understanding of DataTables.

3 years of experience as a SQL developer.

Excellent SQL skills, with experience in building and interpreting complex queries, creating procedures, passing DataTables and creating SSIS packages

Experience using VBA and Excel Automation

Experience programmatically transferring data via FTP

Experience creating WebServices, both Endpoints and Calls via Visual Studio

Experience creating web applications via Forms and Visual Studio

Experience with VBA and Excel

Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks and set priorities

Willingness to work independently or with a team

A minimum of bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent degree or strong industry experience.

Linux OS Experience preferred

C language application development and deployment on a Linux Server preferred.
