This critical team is responsible for managing enterprise risks through the customer lifecycle and across all our global products. We develop industry-first data capabilities, build profitable decision-making frameworks, create machine learning-powered predictive models, and improve customer servicing strategies. This team has delivered industry-leading results year after year while enabling profitable growth and delivering a best-in-class customer experience. The Business Logic Management (BLM) – Risk Journeys team with CFR Capabilities implements Risk Strategies across Onboarding (Credit & Fraud), Customer Management & Authorization, in addition to managing the structured Risk Data from internal as well as external sources. The BLM team is responsible for defining and driving the transformation and modernization of risk management capabilities across risk technology platforms. Our teams have technical and communication skills that enable them to work with cross-functional teams in various domains across the company including Risk Strategy, Servicing, Product Management, Decision Sciences and Technology. We develop, and design logic used in risk management automation that is durable, scalable, easy to deploy and transparent to business strategy partners in real-time and batch environments.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Create business logic and the associated journeys used in risk capabilities
  • Adhere to design and quality guidelines as defined by BLM and serve as a content expert in their respective use cases and journey. This role is ultimately accountable for understanding and translating business requirements into code
  • Work in a scrum team environment with Scrum Master, Product Owner and peers to develop and deploy logic
  • Report into daily stand-ups noting progress and/or impediments
  • Correlate requirements to the impact of logic to cardmembers and perform unit and end-to-end testing
  • Solicit and review test acceptance criteria and generate UAT data
  • Participate and contribute in scrum demo, grooming, and retrospectives
  • Attend program increment (PI) planning, collaborate on story pointing and accept story assignments
  • Accountable to team for completing work they’re leading and deliverables as agreed upon
  • Accountable to team for delivery of quality work
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or business/financial discipline
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
