Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Insurance Finance Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Insurance Accounting & Reporting Analyst.

Reporting to the Insurance Accounting & Reporting Manager, the primary responsibility of this role is to ensure accurate preparation of financial information and reports, timely completion of period close process and review of account reconciliations. This position also assists internal or external audit requirements and various regulatory requirements and support business partners by providing accurate accounting information to enable sound decisions and drive management actions.

What you’ll be doing

Perform month end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and stand-alone and consolidated fluctuation analyses

Independently prepare the fiscal year-end certified financial statements for TMIS, as well providing reporting deliverables for both SEC and Japan Reporting. Prepare schedules required for the fiscal year-end financial audit, periodic regulatory audits and tax reporting.

Prepare and respond to various ad-hoc requests from internal departments lead and/or support management-directed special projects for TMIS (Toyota Motor Insurance Services)

Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes without impairing controls. Propose recommendations to management and independently coordinate implementation of changes approved by management

Independently research and propose appropriate GAAP accounting treatment for new and revised products/programs. Formally document accounting methodology and procedures in a memo to the files

Working in coordination with our IT department and Insurance Product department, assist in the design, development, implementation of systems and procedures for new and existing programs/ products for TMIS

What you bring

• Strong accounting understanding and expertise
• Experience working with ERP application, PeopleSoft preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Public accounting experience with national firm
• Four-Year College Degree in Accounting or related discipline
• Advanced degree preferred
• CPA Certification required
