The Department of Fish and Game’s Communication Bureau is seeking a Web Developer to develop web applications with a focus on user interfaces and content delivery.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who brings good working knowledge of digital content strategy, front-end web development, user experience, and design to our digital communications team. As a team member, they will contribute to our site architecture, design, site analysis, content, and brand presentation.

Responsibilities of this job will include:

Assembling and managing web pages and digital assets to deliver information about Idaho’s wildlife and natural resources. A large focus will be optimizing workflow, building usable and intuitive user interfaces, and streamlining content delivery.

Day-to-day tasks may include:

  • Managing, authoring, and/or repurposing content
  • Supporting digital content creators
  • Integrating best practices for user experience
  • Creating new and updating existing site styles and templates
  • Developing and/or supporting web applications or services
  • Managing site assets

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of digital (internet/web) tools, technology, and protocols
  • Experience creating using HTML, CSS, web programming (PHP, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of graphic design techniques and related applications
  • Experience developing (or managing) web applications and databases
  • Experience solving digital problems by creating solutions using web technology

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Some knowledge of content management systems (Drupal preferred)
  • Some knowledge of responsive design frameworks (including Bootstrap)
