Colliers International Valuation & Advisory Services is currently seeking a Valuation Analyst for its Tampa, FL office. This is an entry-level position and candidates should have an interest in commercial real estate, as this position will provide hands-on experience to eventually become a commercial appraiser.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate core competencies in the following areas:

  • Assist in analyzing regional and local area economic profiles including employment, population, household income, and real estate trends as well as identifying emerging development trends for the real estate market.
  • Learn how to collect, analyze, and report findings of regional and local area economic profiles including employment, population, household income, and real estate trends as well as identifying and reporting on emerging development trends for the real estate market.
  • Investigates and gathers data required for determining value. This would include but is not limited to tax and assessment data, market statistics including vacancy, absorption, and other supply/demand factors, comparable data (land sales, lease and sale comparable).
  • Completes appraisals including area descriptions, market analysis, site description and improvement descriptions.
  • Eventually travel with senior appraiser to property inspections.
  • Receives on-the-job training and works towards property appraisal.
  • Participates in valuation analysis and conclusions under the direct supervision of a licensed appraiser.
  • Participates in writing some sections of appraisal report.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following minimum required degrees, certificates or competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics is preferred. Other degrees will be considered, but candidate must have excellent analytical and writing skills.
  • Must be working towards valid appraiser’s trainee license.
  • Must be working towards obtaining a Certified General Appraisal License.
  • Strong knowledge base in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Work well in a team/office environment.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to independently travel to property inspections.
