Job Description

Enterprise Solutions Architecture (ESA) teams are the gatekeepers of the Wells Fargo Technology Platform, responsible for thought leadership, technology guidance, standards decisions, and governance of technology throughout the enterprise. As part of the transformative changes occurring at WFB, ESA is transforming it’s role to include a more active and extensive part in ensuring that the recommendations that are made are carried through to completion and have the continuous support of ESA throughout the project life cycle to ensure processes and operational capabilities receive proper architecture leadership.

Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) is going through a strategic technology transformation to simplify, streamline and enable technology of the future. EIT currently supports technology application portfolio of around 6,000 applications with majority of applications written in Java and .NET. This lead architecture position is one of the two positions within ESA group responsible for defining and governing technology standards as part of the strategic priority initiatives of Enterprise Modernization and Simplification (EMS) identified in the enterprise. This position will focus specifically on the .NET core and JavaScript application stack. This individual will ensure that refactoring and new applications will receive clear and prescriptive architectural direction. This leader is expected to have hands-on core SDLC experience and knows how to leverage their expertise to improve the environment. This leader must work cross organizationally at developer to senior levels to establish, maintain and govern all architecture aspects relative to technology standards around build and release (BAR) tool-chain, containers, internal and external cloud, web and application server standards, application framework tools and libraries. Their responsibility includes collaboration with other key Wells Fargo organizations to deliver standardized middleware services and layered products to effectively enhance, improve and implement standards, policies and regulatory soundness. By working closely with other key Enterprise Strategic initiatives like micro-services, data environment transformation, UX/UI modernization, CRM, application rationalization, etc. this leader will ensure that technology standards are always closely aligned to serve all of the enterprise needs. This accountability will ensure that we enhance our Risk & Regulatory practices and continuously assess technology standards and strategy to protect Wells Fargo’s technology environment while also improving our efficiency and effectiveness to deliver Wells Fargo products to market faster and with fewer errors. This leadership role must collaborate, interact, and lead both directly and indirectly at the CTO and Group Architect levels level to ensure all standards, policy, control points and governance are well defined and measured for its success. This particular SA6 addition will better enable the team’s effectiveness for the transformation of the enterprise from an EMS perspective and will assist in achieving our overall team goals.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of information technology systems design and planning experience; in systems, applications, or architecture

Desired Qualifications

Extensive technical skills and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of an entire line of business or infrastructure sub-domain

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management

8+ years of .net experience

SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience

Other Desired Qualifications

5+ years of leadership experience and strategic planning in a technology environment

Strategic technical leadership with a detailed understanding of the application SDLC, including technology as well as software development methodologies, tools and processes

Knowledge of current cloud industry standards and practices

Knowledge of various Build and Release Tools
