Sr. Report Developer

About the Senior Report Developer Position

In this role, you will review, analyze, evaluate and apply solutions to end-user support requests for the organization’s reporting systems and reports. You will provide training to end users to encourage a full understanding of how to write reports on the self-service platform of Query Studio. The ideal candidate must have an understanding of general business principles, and how to translate business needs into quality solutions. A genuine focus on internal customer satisfaction and a positive, friendly demeanor is required. The position requires a self-motivated individual with a desire for continual professional development and passion for data analytics.

In addition, you will be responsible for:

Cognos Report Studio Development/Enhancements
Cognos Query Studio Report Deployment/Enhancements
Cognos Event Studio Deployment/Enhancements
Author, maintain, and modify SQL stored procedures, jobs, triggers, DTS/SSIS packages, and views
Review, analyze, prioritize, and solve end-user support requests pertaining to the organization’s payroll and associated reporting needs
Direct testing and rollout efforts associated with new version releases of the Ultipro payroll system and as it pertains to it’s impact on reporting packages, new delivered reports and security.
Continued support and development of training courses and/or seminars for client and internal use of Query Studio
Complete job-related training courses and/or seminars, as may be required for the job and/or assigned by Manager
System Security Administrator for both Web and Back-Office Ultipro and Business Intelligence
Create views, queries, databases and scripts to maintain system using SQL
Research and gather business requirements to develop data interfaces, system tables and advanced reports
Create point in time reports using unions and joins
Provide reports to customer in an automated fashion utilizing event studio, bursting methodology while leveraging the security modules to maintain appropriate access to data
Performs complex ad hoc queries and develops customized reports using Cognos and other Business Intelligence tools
Manage external vendor and internal interfaces ( new hire reporting, 401k vendors, GL interfaces, interfaces (ACA), Equifax, Rapid Pay)
Maintain and manage SSIS packages and Moveit file transfers

As the Senior Report Developer you will have at least 5 years experience developing reports in an advanced Cognos or Crystal Reports environment in addition to 5 years of advanced Microsoft SQL skills. You have a passion for data and translating that into business intelligence.

Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ Years of directly-related experience
Creative and professional verbal and written communication skills to be used to identify, communicate and implement complex business solutions for clients, staff and management.
Must demonstrate above-average initiative, self-reliance and autonomy, with the judgment to know when to take the lead, when to involve others, and how to set priorities of the work functions assigned.
Strong customer service experience preferred
Experience working in a reactive support environment (help desk) preferred
Proven technical aptitude and willingness to learn
