Security Product Owner


Job Description

As an IT Security Product Owner at Micron, you will use the following standardized release procedures: coordinating, planning, monitoring, documenting, testing, and scheduling in a manner consistent with department standards when applicable. You will also help align the capabilities of the company’s software and design business processes and requirements based on business needs.

You will collaborate with the Sr Manager to execute on the vision for the Security Engineering team. You will help define and prioritize the backlog for the Security Engineering team and act as the voice of the customer. You will collaborate and coordinate with the Cyber Defense team on program initiatives breaking down high level requirements into more granular requirements which can be represented as user stories for the Security Engineering team.


Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and formalize the backlog of requirements for the team.
  • Constantly negotiate with stakeholders to refine the backlog of requirements for the team.
  • Align team activities with the overall security program at Micron.
  • Collaborate with implementation team to develop story points as estimates of effort for proposed system changes during the sprint window.
  • Create documentation (business rules, as is/to be flows, requirements, data configuration, use cases, functional specs, and testing forms).
  • Facilitate collaboration between affected groups to gain acceptance of the process changes and complete assigned tasks by the due dates.

Perform the role of Release Manager/Champion as needed.

  • Collaborate with business group members to ensure the full end-to-end business process will function and meet business requirements within the project scope.

Champion system testing.

  • Perform the role of Tester or Test Manager as needed.
  • Confirm system functionalities in the production environment.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to provide early life support for the initiative, taking ownership for transitioning all appropriate information to teams responsible for long term system health and supportability.

Collaborate with the project manager.

  • Assist the Project Manager in assigning tasks and tracking the status of action items when called upon.
  • Assist the Project Manager with the project plan, as needed, including providing hours estimates for the work required.
  • Assist in the creation of a Communication Plan and a Risk Management Plan.
  • Provide process background information and history to the project manager.

Escalate risks and issues and assist with issue resolution management.

  • Participate in retrospectives with the agile team.

Provide customer support.

  • Troubleshoot customer issues on products supported within the business domain.
  • Provide guidance for the support teams by creating knowledge articles, process and procedure documentation, and training materials.
  • Participate in the on-call support rotation, as needed, and provide escalation support.


Education

Required

Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology,

Business Information Systems


Experience

Required

3 years of experience in any of the following:

Product Owner role as part of an agile team

Business Analyst in the Information Security domain

Desired

5 years of experience as Product Owner as part of an Information Security team


Qualifications

  • CISSP, EC Council (CEH etc.), and SANS (GIAC, GSEC, etc.) certification and/or participation in security organizations such as ISSA, MTCIA, ISCA, etc. are a plus.
  • Agile certifications are a plus
