JOB DESCRIPTION:
We’re looking for experienced engineers with a passion for tackling big problems. We’re growing a team that is passionate about experimenting, learning and transforming what we learn into robust scalable systems .

The ideal candidate for this position is hungry to learn,experienced working in Linux systems and has strong back end Python skills. They are comfortable working with large complex data sets (MySQL, elastic) and have an understanding of frontend technologies (JavaScript, jQuery, HTML 5, CSS, AngularJS, React).

We’re doing exciting things at Carvana! Pushing toward microservices architecture, experimenting with new technologies in AWS and being part of an open-minded team when it comes to learning newer technologies and tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will create, maintain, and optimize source code for large data processing services and internal web applications using the above technologies. You will also be called upon to experiment learn and help design and build the next generation of our enterprise applications.

In addition:

• Participate end-to-end in the product life cycle: requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, and implementation
• Participate in peer discussions on architecture and overall direction of Carvana platforms.
• Work with team members to build solutions that are supported by the architecture of the existing systems.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in related field, or professional experience working with related technologies
• At least 2 years of experience in python development on Linux
• At least 1 year of experience in web-based front end development (JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, HTML 5, CSS, AngularJS, React)
• 1 year of writing solid unit/integration tests
• An understanding and experience in application security from the web service and web application perspective
• A good understanding of design patterns and N-Tier architecture
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication and collaboration skills
