Project Analyst

Primerica currently has the following opening in our corporate office located at 1 Primerica Parkway in Duluth Georgia :

The Project Analyst’s primary responsibility will be to take the lead role in both mainframe and distributed projects, throughout the entire software development life cycle for the Investments & Savings department. This includes experience working on projects using the Agile methodology, writing business specifications, developing test scripts, testing, implementation, post production verification, identifying concerns and communicate finds. The analyst would act as a liaison between management, the business users and IT staff. Additionally, the analyst would be interacting with a broad range of internal departments; as well as third party service providers.

To determine operational needs the analyst will study business functions, analyze information and utilize the knowledge obtained to develop written comprehensive business specifications to communicate requirements and changes in systems to IT staff and business partners. The analyst is accountable for overall accuracy, monitoring a project’s progress, communicating to management project milestones and challenges.

Additionally, the Analyst is responsible for writing queries (QMF, SQL, MS Access), building Access databases and creating reports that are used in different areas within ISP department to track and report critical data.

Essential Functions :

• Plans and implements projects
  
• Performs systems and procedures analysis involved in testing
  
• Acts as a liaison between users, management and third party vendors
  
• Researches and resolves system issues
  
• Develop and recommend system improvements and design
  
• Provides data analysis for management and other users
  
• Assists vendors in ensuring projects are completed
  

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelors’ Degree or 4 years equivalent business experience
  
• 3-5 years analysis, quality control, and information systems experience
  
• 2 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or equivalent business and technical experience
  
• Experience using Agile Methodology; Participating in Agile project development team(s)
  
• Intermediate MS Access database and query writing skills (QMF/Win SQL is preferred)
  
• Math aptitude and basic accounting skills
  
• Ability to manage people and projects
  
• Excellent presentation, organizational, verbal and written skills
  
• Ability to work with programmers, coordinators, technical support staff, internal and external department management and vendors
  
• Ability to work with extreme time sensitivity
  
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  
• Ability to perform assigned tasks within specified time frames
  
• Ability to work independently and balance multiple tasks simultaneously
  
• Ability to lead projects from start to finish and work with extreme time sensitivity
