Private Equity Intern

Succession Capital is an entrepreneurial Canadian private equity firm operating on the search fund model. Our mission is to find, acquire, manage and grow one exceptional private company over the long term.

Interns will have the opportunity to work directly with the founder of Succession Capital, and be exposed to live deals in a variety of industries. This is an excellent fit for someone interested in investment banking, private equity or venture capital. If required, letters of recommendation and course credit can also be provided.

This is an unpaid position, and most of the work will be done remotely. You are expected to commit 15-20 hours per week to this internship, with flexible start dates beginning in September.

Responsibilities:

Work will primarily focus on proprietary deal sourcing, including:

• Market and industry research
• Identifying promising acquisition targets
• Collecting broker and company owner contact information
• Broker and company outreach
• Maintaining and updating our deal database

In addition, you may also be required to help with:

• Deal evaluation
• Financial due diligence
• Investor communication

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate business degree OR able to prove strong interest in business/finance
• Able to conduct market or industry research
• Basic understanding of financial statements
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-starter with an ability to work independently
