Planning Manager

Job Responsibilities

Oversees and has full responsibility over Master Scheduling, demand forecasting, inventory analysis, NPI planning and Production Planning. Supervises a team of planners. Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of material through the production cycle. Works with development, production and purchasing teams to ensure material requirements are met. Plans and manages MRP messages in coordination with Purchasing & Materials Manager to meet manufacturing requirements. Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems in conjunction with managers of manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering, and sales. Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures, while ensuring accurate delivery of the revenue plan for the site or group.

Achieve revenue targets and goals by adjusting manufacturing schedules while balancing both the customer’s needs and the business needs

Monitor and measure the OTD of the Planning team, maintaining a target of >95% overall OTD

Maintain high level of accuracy of Work-in-Process inventory

Sustain and deliver commitments and delivery targets

Resolve problems with inventory levels, production schedules, or materials shortages and recommend procedures to avoid future problems

Drive performance improvement based on industry best practices and technological drivers, while delivering our commitment to customer service

Leverage Lean concepts to improve performance relative to run strategies and other key performance improvement opportunities

Leverage technology to enhance demand planning performance

Drive standard operational key performance indicators to ensure efficiency and effectiveness

Create and execute contingency planning

Support product lifecycle management including new product introduction

Assess long and short term capacity utilization to provide recommendation to ensure utilization is realized and or shortfalls are eliminated

Play key role in driving process improvement and participate in cross-functional projects with the greater manufacturing and operations organizations

Interface with operations and planning teams up through the director-level on a regular basis

Ensure the shipment of all company products as scheduled

Monitor the flow of materials from order through receipt, production, inspection and shipping

Influence/coordinate information flow and work cross functionally with production, product development, inventory, purchasing, sales and contracts departments to plan, schedule and implement detailed functional plans

Analyze the process and recommend solutions for more efficient flow of materials through production

Analyze and maintain the data integrity of ERP data (item attribute, BOM’s and routings) to insure proper MRP planning

Minimum/Basic Job Qualifications:
Exceptional analytic business acumen, data driven with strong ERP background

Command of key material planning concepts

In-depth knowledge of manufacturing process and procedures

Knowledge of statistical modeling and basic forecasting practices

Detail-oriented

Proficient with MS Office

Ability to exercise sound judgment when making business decisions

Ability to work independently

Strategic Thinking skills with ability to analyze problems from multiple perspectives and across functions within the organization

Customer-focused

Ability to work cross functionally and influence results across various departments

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to motivate and build consensus across many functions and levels

BS/BA in Business Administration, Engineering or related major; MBA is highly preferred

APICS CPIM Required

10 years of experience in manufacturing operations including at least 5 years of demonstrated leadership

Experience in electronic manufacturing and Chip & Wire assemblies

Strong process manufacturing, material planning & purchasing experience

Oracle ERP experience preferred
