Patient Authorization Representative / Account Manager

Open Position: We are currently seeking ambitious healthcare professional for a Patient Authorization Representative / Account Manager position. This position will provide daily pre-certification billing activities, account management and communications between customers, sites and insurance companies. You will regularly obtain pre-certifications from insurance companies for services to be rendered at customer outpatient facilities for further patient treatment and project management planning. You will also track, monitor and keep records for active research accounts.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Obtain patient’s benefits/and or prior authorizations for medical and diagnostic testing.
• Document and record research data, collection for research sites.
• Maintain thorough documentation regarding verification that includes pre-certs.
• Knowledge of medical terminology used in a fast-paced atmosphere.
• Understands medical insurance and knows how to obtain prior authorizations.
• Able to make and take calls that require explaining benefits to the patient.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and client information.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of prior insurance verification/authorization experience required;
• Knowledge of HMO, PPO, Government, Workers Comp. and LOP insurances;
• Multi-tasking skills are essential;
• Must be dependable, reliable and flexible;
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus but not required.

Competencies:

• Knowledge of ICD-10
• Familiarity with current software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs and EMR preferred, but not required.

Education:

• Some college preferred.
• GED required

Salary: $10.00 to $14.00 Plus Commission
