      The Defense Contract Management Agency serves as the independent eyes and ears of the Department of Defense (DoD) and its partners, delivering actionable acquisition insight from the factory floor to the front line around the world. We are an independent combat support agency within the DoD. We are the Department’s contract manager, responsible for ensuring Federal acquisition programs, supplies, and services are delivered on time, within cost and meet performance requirements.

      The pay band NK-02 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-05/06/07.

      Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities.

      Responsibilities

      • Manage office functional areas, monitors and controls activities relating to the Commander’s office operations. Prepare special reports, a variety of charts and graphs, etc.
      • Ensure that the Commander/Director and Deputy are fully briefed on matters prior to the scheduled meeting.
      • Track and coordinate any and all issues with DAI timecard statuses.
      • Assist subordinate supervisors and employees within the Command of the procedural aspects of expediting the work of the office, including such matters as: assisting supervisor’s subordinates to implement supervisor’s instructions concerning procedures; and arranging with subordinate officials for the collection and submission of data into general reports of the total work of the office.
      • During periods of changeover of DCMA Military Commanders/Directors and Deputy Commanders, applies extensive experience and knowledge of area office activities in indoctrinating incoming Commander with a wide variety of information on functions, mission, practices, policies, regulations and procedures technical/specialized knowledge, geographical locations, and team requirements.
      • Processes military personnel actions for all military assigned to the CMO, prepares Officer Evaluation/Performance Reports, leave requests and other supporting documentation necessary.

      Qualifications
      In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

      Experience required:
      To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

      Specialized experience is defined as: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level NK-01. Specialized experience is defined as: experience performing a variety of administrative support duties which include the use of various automated systems to maintain calendars and schedules; prepare various types of correspondence, maintain/update records; input time and attendance, and provide technical support to the staff.

      Education cannot be substituted for experience.
