As a machine learning / NLP engineer in Wells Fargo’s Enterprise Analytics group, you will be responsible for pushing the state of the art in organization-wide natural language processing (NLP) and speech analytics applications. Your primary responsibilities will involve working with data scientists in the team’s Text Analytics Center of Excellence to help scale machine learning solutions to big data use cases. We are looking for individuals who are intellectually curious, with deep expertise in big data tools, machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence techniques.

As a Team Member Manager , you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically you will:

  • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.
  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling
  • 4+ years of Big Data experience
  • 3+ years of investor reporting experience
  • 3 + years of experience with machine learning algorithms


Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 4+ years of Linux experience
  • Experience with Tensorflow, Theano or Keras
  • Experience with graph analysis packages such as Python, Neo4j or Titan


Other Desired Qualifications

Knowledge and/or experience with the following:

  • Deep understanding optimizing, tuning and troubleshooting Spark applications
  • Understanding of Hadoop file system formats such as Parquet and Avro along with experience in optimizing data for operational use/machine learning
  • Writing production quality code and improving the efficiency of existing codebase
  • Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ
  • Implementing solutions with common NLP frameworks and libraries in Python (NLTK, spaCy, gensim) or Java (Stanford CoreNLP, NLP4J)
  • Deep learning model architecture, applications or software (tensorflow, keras)
  • Serving as an in-house expert on distributed machine learning, teaching others advanced techniques and using state-of-the-art methods
