Junior DevOps Engineer

We are currently looking for someone to join our team working with clients standing up and managing cloud-based analytics platforms. Specifically, we need a Junior DevOps engineer who can be responsible for cloud-based environments that support big data analytics, data workflows, and automated build / deployments. A solid Computer Science foundation, demonstrated interest in cloud based environment support, and proven ability and enthusiasm for learning on the fly. This is a great opportunity for someone with a good foundation to grow and learn some of today’s hottest skills.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; or 4 years of IT work experience
• Linux power user who is comfortable with command-line tools (e.g., awk, sed, grep, scp, ssh)
• Fluent in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Excellent communication and comfortable in a high expectation consulting environment
• Programming ability in an OOP language (e.g., Java, Scala, C#, C++)
• General knowledge of database concepts, specifically SQL syntax

Highly Desired skills:

• Experience with systems deployment and maintenance (e.g., cron job scheduling, iptables, configuration files, service management)
• Working knowledge of Web/Cloud-based systems (e.g., AWS, Azure, REST)
• Skilled in provisioning and managing multiple servers via AWS EC2.
• Able to setup and resolve network issues related to AWS firewall, iptables, DNS, routing, etc.
• Configuration Management and continuous integration
• Experience using systems management infrastructure (e.g., LDAP, Kerberos, Active Directory) and deployment software (e.g., Puppet, Chef)
