Human Resources Specialist

Edelman South is seeking a dynamic ambassador, trusted business partner and consummate team player to join our human resources team as Human Resources Generalist. You’ll be joining a collaborative team that is passionate about the work they do to support, grow, and retain the best talent in our industry.
This highly motivated person will play an integral part in Edelman’s continued growth by partnering with our South offices (Austin, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas and Orlando) as their HR business partner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Contribute to and leads pieces of local and/or regional programs, initiatives, projects and process improvements
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on best practices, compliance and improved decision-making
  • Communicate and provide interpretation of company policies and programs to internal and external audiences
  • Prepares or updates employment records relating to hiring, transferring, promoting and terminating
  • Explains human resource policies, procedures, laws and standards to both new and existing employees
  • Conduct new hire orientation and new employee onboarding and ensures new hire paperwork is processed
  • Addressed employee relations issues and conducts employee check in’s
  • Aids in the hiring process, including coordinating job posts and greeting interviewee’s in the Atlanta office
  • Identify solutions to problems by collecting and analyzing information and recommending courses of action
  • Diplomatically navigate and leverage resources and stakeholders to provide mutually-beneficial solutions to conflicts
  • Understand and display good judgment regarding the overall business, applicable laws and policies, internal and external culture and the firm’s vision, mission and values
  • Partner with employees, managers and hiring managers to determine appropriate staffing needs
  • Serve as a contact for employees and/or candidates to assist in resolving issues, navigating dynamics, answering inquiries and driving career growth
  • Build and maintain a network of credibility, trust and confidence with stakeholders
  • Support or assist with specialty functions, projects and responsibilities
  • Support diversity and inclusion initiatives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
The Human Resources Manager must have at least three years’ progressive Human Resources experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Interest in innovative HR in a professional services environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Effective training and presentation skills
  • Ability to fulfill project execution and follow-up, balance multiple priorities and work under pressure within established time constraints
  • Ability to solve problems and quickly respond to inquiries with sound judgment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
