HR Business Partner

We are looking for a dynamic leader to join our Human Resources team as the Senior HR Business Partner working with our technology leaders in AFT.

In this position you will partner with the leaders of the AFT organization (middle management) and execute the HR strategies that foster organizational and people effectiveness. The individual in this role must understand business priorities and translate them into an HR agenda that supports the business as it grows rapidly. The HR Business Partner serves as a liaison between the business and the central corporate teams to assess the human resources needs in areas such as performance management, employee relations, compensation, career development and leadership development. We are looking for Human Resource professionals who have the ability to diagnose problems as well as identify and drive appropriate solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior management to develop and implement HR plans and solutions in order to achieve strategic business initiatives and deliver results
  • Partner with business on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment
  • Review and analyze business unit data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, and employee experience
  • Provide management coaching to build leadership capabilities to address and resolve employee issues
  • Work with line managers and employees to address all types of employee relations issues ensuring a balance in representing all parties’ interests
  • Assess business unit’s human resources training needs and conduct 1:1 and/or group training sessions as appropriate
  • Provide leadership for employment practices
  • Work with business groups to assess, create and implement innovative solutions for a variety of employee engagement initiatives within the client group
  • Provide ongoing support to the leadership team on human resources related matters, policies and procedures
  • Provide compensation support including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotions and job re-leveling
  • Experience in leading across multiple sites/buildings and geography
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement
  • Ability to deliver results with little supervision in a dynamic and often ambiguous environment
  • Proven effective consulting skills, with an ability to influence in all directions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking, and willingness to be vocally self-critical
  • Demonstrated ability to coach managers and supervisors
  • Experience managing projects across small and large organizations

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent post-secondary degree required in Human Resources Management or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in HR role
  • Able to travel, as appropriate

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or MBA in HR preferred
  • Experience in executive coaching
  • Ability to work well across different functions and locations
  • Resume that shows steady progression in HR for the last 2-5 years
