General Manager

Job Title: General Manager

General Duties: Manage day to day operations of hotel to comply with company standards and attain financial goals.

Report To: Operations Manager

Responsible For: Front Desk Manager

Executive Heads of Department, to include all employees in housekeeping and the maintenance department.

Duties to include:

Financial: To control cost and expense whilst maximizing revenues thus achieving optimum profitability.

To prioritize capital expenditure requirements.

To control salaries and wages focusing on reducing labor cost.

Marketing & Sales: To identify hotel needs and market trends and through liaison with marketing, sales and group departments, implement appropriate policies timely with the approval of the Operations Manager.

In conjunction with the above, monitor the hotel SWOT analysis in order to improve the unit’s strengths, reduce the impact of weaknesses/threats and take timely advantage of opportunities offered.

Administration: Ensure that hotel financial reporting is on time and correct.

Ensure that all hotel reports, as required by Corporate Office, are correct and submitted on time.

Human Resources: To effectively monitor hotel management and strive for ongoing development and high morale of the entire workforce through training, communication and interaction between hotel management and staff.

Identify management potential and development needs and agree appropriate action with Operations Manager.

Implement job descriptions and company performances appraisal procedures.
