FULL STACK JAVA DEVELOPER

6 MONTHS CONTRACT TO HIRE

$58/HR ON W2 (NOT NEGOTIABLE)

If you were to join our team, these are the kinds of things you’d do:

• Work with product owners to define requirements for new features, build product roadmaps and plan increments of work
• Build new features along with the tests needed to ensure their quality
• Whiteboard, socialize and implement changes to system architectures and designs
• Coach and mentor senior and junior engineers along their career journeys
• Lead continuous learning processes for the team
• Collaborate with other application teams to design new APIs and integrations
• Provide support to operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
• Recognize and solve for inefficiencies in our development process
• Find opportunities to educate and learn from other mobile & web engineering teams

Requirements for this position:

• 10+ years building and shipping web-based software in a professional environment
• At least two shipped projects across multiple iterations each as a technical lead
• Experience writing code in Java and JavaScript (without frameworks)
• A thorough understanding of how the web works and modern web application architectures
• Experience with multiple relational and non-relational database technologies
• Experience building distributed systems with an eye toward scalability, reliability and security
• Extensive technical leadership – you can lead technical discussions and drive technical decisions with autonomy
• Proven people leadership – you enjoy mentoring engineers in service of their career goals and coaching them in developing new skills
• Strong communication skills – able to explain technical concepts to designers, product managers and business people in ways that are meaningful to them

Bonus points:

• Experience building browser applications with React or Angular
• Experience building server-based applications and services with ES6 and a Node-based toolchain
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
