The Senior developer is a full-time salaried role responsible for ongoing development of our Ruby-based products and associated APIs. The developer will be responsible for ensuring quality and functionality are maximized during the roll-out of new features along the scheduled roadmap. The Senior Developer will be working with the ruby language and will be involved in architecture decisions for platform and product structure for future releases.

Responsibilities and Duties

The following responsibilities will be required of the Senior Developer:

• In an agile environment, develop feature set to hit sprint and milestone adjectives for multiple public and partner-facing portals, associated APIs and an e-commerce platform.
• Ensure continuation of business for current external customers and internal team
• Support marketing and operations
• Ensure that data is clean and provide service for data imports and exports

Qualifications

Qualifications needed of the Senior Developer are:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge and 3-5 years of experience working with Ruby, Sinatra or Rails. Experience with JS frameworks like Express a plus as this is a direction on our roadmap.
• Strong SQL knowledge with 3-5 years working with relational database (Oracle, SQLServer or MySQL. Understanding of normalization concepts as well as indexing and performance/query tuning. Experience working with NoSQL/Document storage DB’s like Mongo/Dynamo DB also a plus.
• Strong Knowledge of Amazon Web Services environment with experience in server administration running Ubuntu, MySQL, Aurora, Apache2 and Passenger.
• Knowledge of best practices for security in a development environment.
• Experience working with Frontend design and UI using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Experience working with Bootstrap 3/4.
• Hands-on experience working with Git, Automated Testing
