Role Description

Position is guaranteed 30 hours a week (up to 40) at $18 per hour and has the opportunity to extend into the school year.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate would be a rising senior with a May 2019 graduation date majoring in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline

Responsibilities

An intern will assist and perform certain functions of a Financial Analyst and learn what the position entails during their summer internship. The following description outlines what a Financial Analyst is responsible for as part of a team at GA.

  • Perform analysis as part of a team handling multiple projects with varying deadlines each month. A team typically handles four to six appraisals a month.
  • Review target company sales, gross margin, inventory and operating expense performance information. Alert project leader to any open items to insure compliance.
  • Utilize received data to perform all inventory and financial analysis in our appraisal financial models.
  • Perform sku analysis to identify slow moving segments of inventory.
  • Communicate open items and status of analysis internally, as well as with client bank and target company.
  • Review analysis to ensure adherence to defined Great American quality standards and policies.
  • Based on analysis, provide insight to Project Manager with regard to target company key business trends, risk, and make recommendations to Project Manager.
  • Participate in internal meetings and discussions with our liquidation and disposition group to determine overall values for the target company.
  • Provide support to other project teams and with ad hoc analytical projects as needed
