Financial Analysis Specialist

DESCRIPTION:
Financial Analysis Specialist will be primarily responsible for the preparation of monthly reporting and analysis related to Cigna HealthSpring’s IPA business model. This position will work with various teams including, but not limited to NetOps, Actuary, Finance, Board Physicians, and external Audit Firms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Extract, analyze, and validate large sets of data used for monthly reporting

Build IBNR Models for Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly Closeout

Develop new analytic resources

Deliver monthly analytics packages to NetOps and other Business Partners

Assist with internal and external audit request

Develop, maintain and troubleshoot complex internal MS Excel spreadsheets

Assist with Ad-Hoc request

Qualifications

PEFERRED COMPETENCIES:
Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Understanding or experience with a financial month end close

Strong Excel skills and experience building and maintaining excel models

Team player able to work in a matrix environment to meet reporting deadlines

Ability to utilize independent judgment and discretion, identify variances, and recommend solutions

Innovative and strong desire to learn

Experience in a highly regulated business environment

Ability to communicate results of analytics to a multitude of individuals/groups

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Economics or Finance preferred

MBA or CPA a plus.

2 plus years in a financial or a highly analytical position
